Frequently Asked Questions

After obtaining city permit approval and HOA approval (if applicable), most impact window orders take a few weeks to a few months, depending on the manufacturer, custom sizing, glass options, and current production volume. After final measurements and approvals, we place the order and keep you updated on delivery timing.

No. You can start remotely and we can coordinate access with you, a property manager, or another trusted local contact to visit your residency and help with product selection and a preliminary quote.

The best choice depends on your priorities (budget, convenience, appearance, and how quickly you want to secure the home). In general:

  • Impact windows/doors = always-on protection + energy/noise benefits. Best all-around protection.
  • Motorized roll-down shutters = fastest storm prep (push-button)
  • Accordion shutters = strong protection + great value

A combination of impact windows and shutters would be the best to protect your house and loved ones!

Impact-rated entry doors are often custom-built, so lead times are commonly several weeks to a few months, depending on door type (fiberglass/steel), glass, and sidelights. Once measurements and selections are finalized, we order and track delivery.

In most Florida jurisdictions, yes — permits are commonly required for impact windows, exterior doors, and many shutter installations. Permits ensure the products and installation meet Florida Building Code and local requirements, and they typically involve inspections.

Yes, we handle everything permit related to the extent that we can. This means, preparing the permit and submitting it to the city. If engineering designs and statements are needed, we submit that as well. Finally, we coordinate inspections when the job is completed.

Yes. Permit inspections are common and usually include verifying:

  • approved product
  • proper anchoring/fasteners
  • correct installation method to FBC code

We coordinate the inspection process completely!

Yes. We handle the entire HOA process except signing your signature!

Yes, we install products that meet applicable Florida Building Code requirements and are selected based on your wind zone, opening sizes, and installation conditions.

Yes, many of our customers notice less outside noise, less heat transfer (especially with Low-E glass options), and improved comfort and UV reduction. Exact results vary by home, glass package, and exposure, and we can work with you to develop a customized solution that fits your needs.
